No Kill Shelter !!

I am basically running a No Kill Cat Shelter out of my home ! I do not believe in putting a perfectly healthy, and adoptable animal to sleep! I have never asked for donations for myself from anyone on the internet, or otherwise before but when it comes to the care, feeding, and shelter of the cats I have rescued from my neighborhood I believe I am not out of line to try. I can understand if people do not wish to give money, although I will provide my Paypal account for those who do, but even a gift card donation for places where I can purchase their food, I have found that Costco has a large bag of cat food called Meow Mix that my kitties enjoy. A 21.6 pound bag of food costs $ 11.98 plus tax, and it takes about 6 bags of food a month, yes about 120lbs. of food, at this time with the number of cats I am sheltering. As I find homes for my kitties this number of bags goes down. Fred Meyer, and Wal-Mart are also great places to get cat food and litter at reasonable prices. I am however happy to take gift cards from Petsmart, and Petco, and Northwest Seed and Pet, as these are close to my home.

In the area where I live, of Eastern Washington, the shelters are full and they will generally keep a cat for only 3 days before they destroy the animal. To my knowledge there are no, NO Kill Shelters, in my area.

I am very picky about who I adopt these cats out to, I tell them if you can't afford to bring your own cat cage, and reimburse me for license, spay neuter, and shots, that you just can't afford to have a pet. I try to state this upfront so there is no misunderstandings.

Three of the kitties pictured on this page have been adopted by good homes!! :)
